The tour starts and ends in Kigali city, it takes you to Volcanoes National Park to track the mountain gorillas and to see many other animal species. The park is just 2 hours’ drive from Kigali. You are to enjoy the great scenery as you travel as well as vegetation cover.
Day 1: Drive to Volcanoes National Park
Upon your arrival at the airport, our company guide welcomes and transfers you to Volcanoes National Park. This drive takes you through different villages and towns along the road. Get to enjoy the scenery of the many hills with great views of valleys and pathways to different homes and trading centers. Upon your arrival at the park, check in to the lodge and then have dinner and overnight at Five Volcanoes Lodge/Le bamboo gorilla Lodge/Garden Palace Hotel. Meal plan: Full board
Day 2: Gorilla trekking & community walk
Wake up so early in the morning after having breakfast, the driver guide will transfer you to the headquarters for briefing about the dos and don’ts of gorilla trekking. Start the search for the gorillas led by the rangers, once you find them, you are given 1 hour to interact with them as you take some photos.
After tracking the gorillas, get back to the lodge for lunch as you prepare for a community walk to interact with the local people and learn their way of life. Dinner and overnight at Five Volcanoes Lodge/Le bamboo gorilla Lodge/Garden Palace Hotel. Meal plan: Full board
Day 3: Depart back to Kigali & have a city tour
Have breakfast at the lodge and then start your drive back to Kigali city, upon your arrival, have lunch and then visit the genocide memorial site as well as the local markets to do some shopping. After, the guide will drop you off at the airport to catch your departure flight.
